Linn-Co Board Approves CUAid Relief for California Fires
The board of directors of Linn-Co FCU approved a $3,000 donation to the CUAid Disaster Relief Fund at the November 20th board meeting.
“We’re a credit union. Helping people is the spirit and heart of what we are,” said Randy Whitfield, board president. “Especially in times of tragedy and need, our mission moves us to help our neighbors in their pain and suffering.” Randy is the Battalion Chief for the Sweet Home Fire Department, and a 30 year veteran of area fire departments.
Donations to the foundations General Disaster Relief Fund are being used for any credit union employee and volunteer affected by the California wildfires. 100% of the donations through CUAid goes to credit union disaster relief.
Carol Cromwell, Linn-Co’s CEO added, “This tragic event unfortunately affects so many of us on a personal and emotional level. We hope for brighter days ahead as people rebuild their lives.”
CUAid is a trade association foundation focused on consumers and the credit unions’ unique ability to meet those needs. It is an affiliate of the Credit Union National Association (CUNA), widely recognized as the national charitable arm of the credit union movement helping people achieve financial freedom.
